Inspired by a Book mani - The Secret Diary of Laura Palmer

Every week I will bring you nail art! Thursdays used to be Fail Art Thursday, but hopefully I'll have less "fail" here! I'm going to do this series (for as long as I can), with nail art inspired by books! The covers of books specifically. I hope to be able to do this EVERY week - and I'm going to try my hardest to make this a weekly feature - there are SO many books I can utilize :)

So I finally talked my husband isn't watching Twin Peaks. I'd watched the entire series when it was originally on TV back in the 90s, but he never had. All my sideways references just went over his head for the most part. Today's mani is inspired by The Secret Diary of Laura Palmer, the tawdry, unsavory companion to the series. Unfortunately, there's not much TO this mani hahaha :)

I only used two polishes and a small piece of plastic wrap. The reddish orange I used for the base is OPI Tasmanian Devil Made Me Do It, and the brown is OPI Suzi Says Da! Both of these polishes were purchased with my own money years ago.

First I started with Tasmanian Devil Made Me Do It as the base, and once it was dry, I painted a coat of Suzi Says Da over that. Immediately I started dabbing my nails with the plastic wrap all crinkled up into a ball.

And voila! It's almost too simple, and I kinda feel bad for making it my Inspired by a Book mani this week! I have a whole stack of books I could've used, but this one was so, well, it's almost elegant looking. Kind of like a very high class marble floor?

So what do you guys think? I am really looking forward to what I can accomplish by continuing this feature! Is there a book you'd like to see me attempt nail art inspired by? I'll gladly take suggestions! I can even get the book checked out from the library if need be ;)
