Eucerin Aquaphor Healing Ointment is great for winter ravaged hands!

Eucerin Aquaphor Healing Ointment

This time of year is always hard on the skin around here - cold weather translates to dropping temps, blustery winds and general ookiness. My secret weapon? Eucerin Aquaphor Healing Ointment!

This stuff is not like regular lotion. It comes out more like a gel or a paste or a balm. It's very thick, and the consistency is squishy. Let me caution: A little goes a long way! You do not need much of this stuff for it to work. I found that out the hard way. I slathered a big glob of it on my hands the first time I tried it. I was left with a shiny, greasy mess haha!

On the left, below, is pre-Aquaphor; the right is after. You can see the scraggly, dry skin around my cuticles. I use this as a treatment in the winter. I dab a teeny bit on, rub it in a little and let it set for a little while. Then I rub my whole hands with lotion or hand cream, keeping in mind to pay a little extra attention to the places I put the Aquaphor.

This is a must have for me in the winter. It's good all through the year, but especially during the long, cold months. It's super good for really dry skin - just make sure you use just enough for your skin to handle. Otherwise, you end up all shiny and slippery haha! You can purchase this pretty much everywhere! I have found them at Target, WalMart, CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreens, and you can even order from Amazon!
