Our trip to Game Knight

I'll just be upfront with you all and tell you that my husband and I are game nerds. Well, I should say our entire family can be included in that. Sometimes, the 3 of us sit around the kitchen table and play games while the puppy sleeps in a bed near the table. So you can bet, wherever we go, we seek out game stores. One of my husband's favorite places is Game Knight, a small store in Huntingburg, Indiana, which is a little bit away from home; but the drive is still manageable.

I will say that when I married him almost 15 years ago, I had no idea my husband would be so game-minded. But he found a friend down here (I chuckle because my husband isn't super social, so a friend to him is a big deal), and they started talking board games.... and it's been downhill ever since. Most of our disposable income is sunk into games. BUT it is a source of amusement for us all, so I can't really complain.

Below is the shelf lining one wall of Game Knight - this is where the magic is! There are several games we already own here, but it seems like every time we walk in, there's new stuff. They don't just have games here, tho. There's comics, trinkets, Funko Pops... a little bit of everything! I'll just let the pictures tell the story for a bit...

That's my kid kicked back on the couch haha! It's a very homey atmosphere, and the workers are friendly. I can't say I know any of them by name. But they are very talkative and helpful. Below are some of the games available there that we already own. I actually really like all 3 of these games! Sheriff of Nottingham is super fun - it's a bluffing game! My son loves it.

Now here are 3 games we don't have, but I thought they looked cool! Well, we do have Legendary, but not the Big Trouble in Little China expansion. We've played Evolution, but not this expansion. And as for the kitty game? I have a friend who LOVES cats, and she'd probably flip out over it.

Just a taste of some of the other areas of the store... the Funko Pop display! We have a lot of Funkos at our house, so I always peruse their selection for new ones when I'm in there. They also have a random assortment of mystery box packs (like the Supernatural ones). We got 2 and ended up with an angel Sam and a Bobby. I promptly dropped Bobby and broke off his head. They also have X-Wing stuff - and I admit I have NO idea about that stuff. That's my husband's territory! They also have cool comic book posters up on the walls. That Star Lord one is my favorite.
