Today I have something a little different than anything else I own - an indie from JENsations called Crossword Puzzle. It's a clear base with all size and manner of black and white squares. My first thought upon seeing it was Lacquered Lover would enjoy this polish. It's one of those glitters that I call "seek and dab" because you have to dig in the bottle a little to get some of the glitter on your brush and then dab them on the nail, rather than brush them across. They place better that way. I have it featured of two different bases. One placed thickly, and one placed pretty sparce on the nail.
First up is the 'heavy' application over Deborah Lippmann Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. I won't lie, it took a little bit of time to get the glitter out and on the nail this thick. But, honestly, it's no different than any other big chunky glitter I've ever worked with. As far as big chunky glitters go, this one is no harder to work with than any other.
The sparce application I saved for Deborah Lippmann Footloose. I think it looks amazing over red! My middle finger looks a little goopy, and I didn't notice it until I got it out in the sun :( But I love the effect of random black and white squares on the nail. It just adds the right touch of accent!
So what do you think of this glitter topper? My opinion is that if you like it enough, it doesn't really matter how difficult a polish is to work with. This one, I shall work with again! :) You can purchase your own bottle from JENsations Etsy store.
