Little known fact about me: I'm a huge fan of the Percy Jackson books. I even liked the first movie when a lot of people didn't. I think Logan Lerman, who plays Percy in the movie, is a cutie. I have watched him since he was on the WB show Jack & Bobby. And this, this will make a complete dork!! If you watch Brothers & Sisters, you will know that Rob Lowe played a character named Robert McCallister. Logan Lerman's character on Jack & Bobby was Bobby McCallister. Both shows were created by Greg Berlanti - so yes, they are the same character! ...but I digress.
All of that was a set up for the polish I have to show you today - Indigo Bananas Dionysus. Dionysus was the god of the winemaking and wine, grape harvest and of ritual madness and ecstasy in Greek mythology. Grapes = purple...so you guessed it! This polish is purple :) Andrea, who creates Indigo Bananas polishes sent this one to me, as I've had my eye on it for a little while.
The photos above were taken in direct sunlight - which does not show off this polish properly. I just wanted to give you guys an idea of what it looks like in different lights. This is a duochrome polish - it flashes purple/pink/orange. Also in this polish? Holo glitter. Yep, teeny tiny holo glitter. I used two coats of this polish in all the swatches.
When I realized I wasn't capturing the full effect of the polish, I switched over to the shade, which I traditionally don't do anymore - but this paid off! Look at the beautiful-ness that's below...
I love the shift! It is so pretty in the shade! I am seriously loving this polish. I wore it for two days because I was so impressed with it. Do you guys have this? Do you have any Indigo Bananas polishes? I have one other, and a few more I've got my eye on - so look for more polishes to be featured here! You can purchase Dionysus here for $10 for 15ml.
