Today's post about the Vampire Diaries Chicago convention is about the panel featuring Candice Accola (Caroline Forbes) and Michael Trevino (Tyler Lockwood). They appeared Saturday afternoon of the convention and shared their panel, answering questions from the audience and really just being adorable together.


Candice is a lot like Caroline. It's hard to explain, but it seems she is naturally just Caroline - aside from the whole being a vampire thing. She really thought a lot about her answers to the questions the fans asked and tried her hardest to give good answers. And yes, she is just as beautiful in person as she is on the show. She wasn't very personable during the autograph session, tho. She wasn't rude or anything, but she signed quickly, smiled, thanked you and sent you on your way :)


Michael is the opposite of Tyler. Or, well, Tyler from the first two seasons of the show. He is very down-to-earth and genuine. He enjoyed picking on Candice during the panel, and she took the ribbing all in stride. They played off each other very well, with Michael being just as comfortable with teasing her as he was with praising her. I unfortunately didn't get Michael's autograph. He wasn't included in the Gold package I purchased, and I thought it wouldn't bother me. But it ended up being a sore spot with me - I wish I had purchased his autograph, along with the others I didn't get.


Candice shared that her favorite episodes were the ones with any of the Decade Dances because the cast was all dressed up and having fun. Michael told us that his most challenging scene was his first transformation. A fan asked if they thought Tyler would like to kill Klaus, to which Michael quickly replied "OH yeah!" Candice was really, really mum on details of a Caroline-Klaus hook-up...and we could tell that something was upcoming by the way she kept quiet :) One fan asked if they ever took anything from the set, and Michael admitted he liked the socks, black Nike socks, they dress his character in, so he's been known to just wear them home.


Michael and Candice also came to Saturday night's Decade Dance. Candice didn't stay long, and I never got to speak with her. Michael, however, stood and talked to my friend, Stacie, and I for a while. He was making his rounds through the tables talking to everyone there. Again, I have to stress how down-to-earth he was with everyone. He stopped and talked to everyone he could at the dance. We weren't allowed to take pics at the dance, so unfortunately, I have no photos.
