When bad things happen to good manis - Zoya Cola+Ulta Love Fern

Today's post makes me so sad hahah I have been dying to use Ulta Love Fern ever since I picked it up a few months back, but I hadn't had the chance to sit down and use it. So last week, I did just that! I took my little nail wheel and I used a few different bases and then topped with Love Fern. I ended up choosing Zoya Cola, an amazing deep reddish brown.

All was well an hour later after Cola, Love Fern and top coat were applied...or so I thought...

When I saw it, I gasped. Outloud. And clutched my chest. Yep, people still clutch their chest in agony just like Scarlet O'Hara. Don't they? After my initial shock, I replayed in my head every move I'd made since I put the top coat on. Had I gone to the bathroom? No, I hadn't. Had I eaten anything? No, it was like 11 p.m. when I finished up, and we were watching TV. Did I pick anything up? Not that I know of. Did the dog get on my nails? No, he was sleeping in his crate the whole time.

(you guys do this, too, right? when you get a ding in a mani?)

I almost didn't post this mani. I thought it would be silly to show a ding. Right? But then I decided to play with Photoshop. Anyone else have Photoshop? I'm going to do something I normally don't do - show you an edited nail photo. Let me be clear - I DO NOT EDIT MY PHOTOS LIKE THIS NORMALLY. But I wanted to see if I could actually pull it off. What follows is a passable attempt at fixing that huge, evenly rounded ding. It's not perfect. You can see the smudging a little, but...

Not bad, I think. But again, I reiterate - just because I CAN do this, doesn't mean I do. This was just me playing around. It kinda makes my nail look malformed...
