Inspired by a Book Mani series - Monster Blood

Every week I will bring you nail art! Thursdays used to be Fail Art Thursday, but hopefully I'll have less "fail" here! I'm going to do this series (for as long as I can), with nail art inspired by books! The covers of books specifically. I hope to be able to do this EVERY Thursday - and I'm going to try my hardest to make this a weekly feature - there are SO many books I can utilize :)

So what is this week's book? Monster Blood, a Goosebumps book by RL Stine! I let my son choose this book for me to use, and I had a LOT of fun with this one - actually doing two manis (the first didn't work out, even tho I loved the concept!)

With this one, I decided I needed to utilize the green gooey globs of stuff, so I tried it one of two ways - the way that ended up working was by using Suds n Stickers guides that I received for review. First I used Julie G Cabana Boy (which was sent to me for review), and then, using a makeup sponge, I sponged Cult Nails Feel Me Up and Essence Fame Fatale (both of which were purchased with my own money).

I had to do a few layers of sponging to get the colors to come through...and I didn't get Feel Me Up with very good coverage. Anyway, after that was dry, I applied the sticker guides and painted on some Julie G Holla-Peno (also sent to me for review).

...and how does it look with the guides off??

I love it!!! My son was quite proud of me, too. :)

Want a peek at the mani that didn't work out? I tried "stairs" with green drippings (using all the other colors expect Fame Fatale) in stamps. It didn't work out like I envisioned...

So what do you guys think? I am really looking forward to what I can accomplish with this feature! Is there a book you'd like to see me attempt nail art inspired by? I'll gladly take suggestions! I can even get the book checked out from the library if need be ;)
