Guest Post: Summer Orange and Red Gradient Lips

Check out this awesome red-orange summer lip tutorial from Leticia from Cosmetics Aficionado!

Gradient lips don’t have to be super obvious or over the top. You can make them quite wearable, and for summer what better colors to choose than red and orange? They are very close to each other on the color wheel, so they blend well into each other without being a super obvious color change. For this gradient lip I chose MAC Cosmetics Neon Orange and Russian Red, but this could easily be reproduced from other brands. If you are on a budget, Milani Sweet Nectar is a great orange to go along with your favorite red lipstick.

Start with bare lips (I don’t prime mine, but you could), and using a lip brush place your orange shade in the middle of your lips. If you get a little past half way that is fine, because that is an area you will be blending anyway.

Take your red lipstick of choice, and with a lip brush place it just outside of the orange and to your lip line.

With your lip brush, I like to swipe side to side at the line where the colors meet instead of top to bottom. I find this the best way for me to blend without moving either color too far, but do what works best for you.
And you’re done!

Thank you SO MUCH Leticia for this tutorial!!! These colors are right up my alley, so I'll be trying this.
