FingerPaints Enchanted Mermaid Collection swatches+review

**press sample**
The polishes in the FingerPaints Enchanted Mermaid collection are interesting. The texture isn't normal, and it isn't for everyone. I find it odd, but my son thinks it's funny. It doesn't feel like a typical texture, nor does it look like one. To me, it looks and feels like smooth broken pieces of seashell. I can see that people might think it feels like mermaid (re: fish) scales, too. I was actually shocked to find that I like one of them! Which one? Find out after the cut!

I actually really like Sea Temptress, the white polish in the collection. I love the way it looks, honestly. It kind of gives off a pink and blue sheen in various lights and reminds of a seashell you'd pick up while walking along the beach. I had no troubles with application, and I used 3 very thin coats to achieve what is pictured. I can guarantee I will wear this one again. It's very unique.

While I love the teal goodness of Tails of Love, I just couldn't bring myself to like this polish. The texture that worked so well with the white polish did not bleed over into this teal. I found this formula thick and a little hard to work with - but I was able to get even coverage after a hefty second coat. But then again, with this type texture, being even isn't exactly the point.

Sailor's Lure is SO pretty! The color is absolutely beautiful - but the texture, again, like Tails of Love, just wasn't for me. It kind of looks like fuzzies got in my polish. The application was better than Tails of Love. I didn't have any issues with the formula.

Last, but not least, is Underwater Enchantress. The texture wasn't as noticeable on this one as with the previous colors. For this polish, the texture is just a slight wavy feeling to the polish. It was kind of mesmerizing to look at, especially in the last picture. Kind of trippy!

This collection is kind of on the fence for me. I do like Sea Temptress a lot, but the other just don't do much for me. I would definitely suggest trying one out if you're curious. They don't appear to be up on the Sally Beauty website yet, but they are popping up in Sally stores.
