Got new Rainbow Honey polishes on the brain? Me too! Today, I have three from the new Summer Mixtape Collection to show you. These polishes, along with the rest of the collection, are available now on the website. Find out my thoughts, and see more pictures, after the cut! You'll notice (at least) four photos for each color - sunlight, shade, indoors with natural light and indoors with flash (in that order, as if you are reading a book). I've done this for several reasons. I want to provide a wide variety of lighting options for you to see how the polish looks.
It might surprise you that my favorite of these three polishes is a pink. Well, it's not *completely* pink, but it smacks of pink in a big way. Fall in Love is labeled as a crimson red jelly with blue shimmers. I see pink. But most of all, it has a great formula. The shimmers are really subtle in the two coats I used, but they are amazing when they stand out ;)
I honestly thought I would like I Wanna Get Better more than I do. It's a great concept - and very summery, I might add! It's a peach crelly with bright glitters, including pink, purple and yellow. That sounds great! but as you can see in the close-up, most of the glitters congregate at the bottom of the bottle and don't make it up to the brush. The polish itself is a nice color and easy to apply, but the glitter pay-off not so much. I used three thin coats over a milky base to achieve what's on my nails.
Elevate is such a fun glitter topper! While I love the variety of colors in this polish, and how well they go together, I found application sparse. The glitters aren't packed very finely in this clear base, so what's pictured is two coats - which was fine with me, actually. This glitter, which has chunky pieces, is best over a color, and I'm not sure it would ever be opaque! I swatched it over the one-coater, Rainbow Honey Charaxes (which I will review soon!). haha It's kind of like an explosion of confetti...
