FingerPaints Film Noir collection swatches+review

**press sample**
Lately, FingerPaints collections have been all kinds of amazing, right? Film Noir is no exception in the color department - I LOVE the colors involved in this collection. This group of four polishes boasts a glitter and three matte shades. And that's where I lose it. I don't particularly care for the formula of these mattes. Check after the cut for photos and my impressions.

I've taken a lot of pictures of this collection. You'll notice four photos for each color - sunlight, shade, indoors with natural light and indoors with flash (in that order, as if you are reading a book). I've done this for several reasons. I want to provide a wide variety of lighting options for you to see how the polish looks.

First up is the glitter, Hollywood Decadence. The base is a milky pinkish greyish hue, and it's packed with glitter in blue, pink and gold? There might be more colors there. I only needed two coats for what's shown.

Petal Obsession is an extremely pretty pale pink. The finish is nice - almost a chalk-type look. However, the formula wasn't for me. I had issues with getting a smooth application. It seemed no matter how much I tried, the polish just did what it wanted to do. One of the problems, I think, is that the polish dries EXTREMELY FAST. In my opinion, that prevented the polish from spreading like it should have.

Moving on to Beautiful Mystery, a dusty blue. It had the same issues as Petal Obsession. The color is great, but the formula's just not ideal for me. You can see just how bad of a time I had this this one :/

Film Noir was a little better formula-wise, but the dark hue worked against it. It applied easier, but still looks just.... not good.

I'm gonna call this collection a miss for me. Who knows.... maybe a top coat would save it for me? What do you guys think? They don't appear to be up on the Sally Beauty website yet, but they are popping up in Sally stores.
