Inspired by a Book Mani - Miss Match by Erynn Mangum

Every week I will bring you nail art! Thursdays used to be Fail Art Thursday, but hopefully I'll have less "fail" here! I'm going to do this series (for as long as I can), with nail art inspired by books! The covers of books specifically. I hope to be able to do this EVERY week - and I'm going to try my hardest to make this a weekly feature - there are SO many books I can utilize :)

Today's featured book is the first of a trilogy - or at least I thought it was just a trilogy! I just found out there's more. Anyway - it's Miss Match by Erynn Mangum. I really liked this series, and the cover art could be a challenge. I was determined to make that corkboard-esque paper coffee sleeve...

OK.... I used a lot of polishes! hahahah (from left) OPI Zombody to Love; Zoya LC; Julie G Black Sheep, White Orchia, Fierce & Fab and Platform Wedges; OPI MY Vampire Is Buff; Milani Vanilla Almond; and Julie G matte top coat.

So I started with, at left, White Orchid and Platform Wedges. Then I gradiented LC and Black Sheep over White Orchid. My gradient could be better, but it is what it is. I like it. On the ring finger, I sponged both My Vampire is Buff and Vanilla Almond to create the flat look of the paper sleeve.

...I guess I didn't get just a mani shot of the finished product! I took LC, Fierce & Fab and Zombody to Love and doodled some on the flat surface, and then put a matte top coat on that nail. I think my paper sleeve turned out all right!

So what do you guys think? I am really looking forward to what I can accomplish by continuing this feature! Is there a book you'd like to see me attempt nail art inspired by? I'll gladly take suggestions! I can even get the book checked out from the library if need be ;)
