Inspired by a Book Mani - Leave It To Claire by Tracey Bateman

Confessions of a Sarcastic Mom's Inspired by a Book Manis

Every week I will bring you nail art! Thursdays used to be Fail Art Thursday, but hopefully I'll have less "fail" here! I'm going to do this series (for as long as I can), with nail art inspired by books! The covers of books specifically. I hope to be able to do this EVERY week - and I'm going to try my hardest to make this a weekly feature - there are SO many books I can utilize :)

Today's book is a favorite of mine - Leave It To Claire by Tracey Bateman. The book cover caught my eye at Sam's Club one day (when we still shopped there quite a bit), and I decided to buy it. The cover it so bright and fun!

The polishes I used are Wet n Wild Sunny Side-Up and Cursed (both purchased by me), Barielle Rain in Spain (press sample), Catrice Pool Party At Night and Zoya Pippa (both purchased by me). I spent a lot of time picking out polishes for this book cover. I dunno why but it seemed like nothing was right. I finally settled on this set.

I started with Sunny Side-Up and used it on all my nails. Then I used some nail art guides (I think I got them at WalMart) on 3 of the nails and painted Cursed over the top and removed the guides. This gave me the striped look from the top of the book. I think it looks really neat!

For my ring finger, I decided to mimic the floral pattern on her pants. They aren't exactly perfect, but I think they are pretty darn good! I used Pool Party At Night, Rain in Spain and Pippa.

I think it turned out well! I really like how this looks all together. I admit, sometimes I am just not very good at what I try to do, but this time, I think I did a really good job! This may be my favorite from the year :)

So what do you guys think? I am really looking forward to what I can accomplish by continuing this feature! Is there a book you'd like to see me attempt nail art inspired by? I'll gladly take suggestions! I can even get the book checked out from the library if need be ;)
