Inspired by a Book Mani - Down A Dark Hall by Lois Duncan

Confessions of a Sarcastic Mom's Inspired by a Book Manis

Every week I will bring you nail art! Thursdays used to be Fail Art Thursday, but hopefully I'll have less "fail" here! I'm going to do this series (for as long as I can), with nail art inspired by books! The covers of books specifically. I hope to be able to do this EVERY week - and I'm going to try my hardest to make this a weekly feature - there are SO many books I can utilize :)

Today's featured book is one of my favorites - Down A Dark Hall by Lois Duncan. I've read this book 3-4 times, and I fall in love with it all over again every time I do. It's about a girl who gets admitted to a very prestigious all-girls school only to find the school strange and unusual. Only 3 other girls are there, and they are all...... special.

The polishes I used for this mani were all purchased by me: Cult Nail Blackout and China Glaze Metro Pollen-Tin and Intelligence, Integrity and Courage (from the Giver collection). Can I just say the Giver collection is one of my all-time favorite collections? I love the whole thing.

No step-by-step photos, as I spaced on them, but I put a base of Blackout down, and then I used an eye shadow thingy to dab Intelligence, Integrity and Courage over it on 3 fingers. I then went back to Blackout and dabbed a little around on top. For my middle finger, I added some guides (which didn't stick. bummer.) and I painted Metro Pollen-Tin. It's too bad the guides didn't stick. My lines aren't really straight hahaha

Overall, I'm not too keen on how this looks, but I do like the marble effect with the black and grey! I think that looks super cool, and I will definitely be trying this technique with other polishes. I think my middle finger maybe just looks like a bee haha

So what do you guys think? I am really looking forward to what I can accomplish by continuing this feature! Is there a book you'd like to see me attempt nail art inspired by? I'll gladly take suggestions! I can even get the book checked out from the library if need be ;)
