StriVectin Advanced Retinol Pore Refiner and Tightening Neck Cream

You guys remember what a fan I am of StriVectin SD Advanced Intensive Concentrate, right? Well, when I was sent the Advanced Retinol Pore Refiner and Tightening Neck Cream, I jumped at the chance to try them out!

I had read a few posts where people had sensitivity to retinol. My skin acts weird sometimes, but I didn't figure it would react to the retinol in this product for a prolonged period of time. I thought my skin would "get used to it," so to speak. But it didn't :( My skin was red and irritated when I put it on. It didn't itch or hurt, it just looked like I was having an allergic reaction. I tried for 4 weeks before I finally gave up. However, when I did have it on, despite the redness, I noticed my pores looked smaller. Weird huh? It worked and irritated at the same time.

On the other hand, we have the Tightening Neck Cream - and it's great! I do use this every night, and I have noticed a difference in the firmness of the skin around my jawline. Now, it's not an "overnight sensation" type stuff, but I do notice it. I have lost a fair amount of weight lately (36 lbs), so my skin is in need of something like this. I love the way this feels, and the scent isn't so overpowering that I end up smelling it all night.

As for the price, I can tell you it's a little steep, for both of these products. The Retinol Pore Refiner is $99 for 1.7 ozs. The Tightening Neck Cream comes in 2 sizes - 3.4 ozs for $139 and 1.7 ozs for $95. You can get them on the StriVectin website. I will seriously consider purchasing the neck cream when it comes time - but it's lasting! I've barely put a dent in the container I have. A little does go a long way :)
