The one with Zoya Breezi

Oh how I am in love with this color! I got Zoya Breezi in the BOGO promotion they ran with their summer collections. I have long since been in love with OPI's Suzi Says Feng Shui ... and Breezi is a dupe! I had just told the lady who does my toes how much I wanted a bottle of SSFS for my very own ... and the same day I find out Breezi is a dupe! :)

Zoya's website describes Breezi as: "Soft, dusty, dirty medium cerulean blue with an opaque cream finish.  A super chic  high-fashion denim look for nails"

This is Breezi in indoor light, with the flash on our camera. Application was like butter. I could have gotten by with one coat! But I usually do two coats just for good measure :) Base of China Glaze Strong Adhesion, two coats of Breezi, then a top of ORLY Sec'nDry.

And here she is in natural light, out in my front yard, no flash. I have always says said, hands down, that Tallulah is my go-to Zoya color. She may be replaced with Breezie.

**DISCLAIMER**  I was not paid for this review by anyone. I received this bottle of polish as part of Zoya's BOGO promotion on their summer 2011 collecftions. I am not a professional nail tech, nor do I want to be. I'm just someone who enjoys polishing my own nails :)

OPI Launches Touring America Collection

OPI hits the open road with a new take on classic style in the Touring America Collection for Fall/Winter 2011. Inspired by Americana and cities with rich cultural heritage, the collection’s twelve shades offer comfortable glamour and wearable elegance for nails and toes.

“My recent road trip across the country sparked the creation of the Touring America Collection,” says Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director.  “Autumn is a time for reinvention, and these shades revive classic, iconic colors for fall, from cool heather, khaki and chocolate to warm rose, peach and red.”
The season’s go-to shades of taupe and pearl grey appear in variations from dark to light – A-taupe the Space Needle, Get in the Expresso Lane, French Quarter for Your Thoughts, and Suzi Takes the Wheel.  Lush urban neutrals in deep sapphire (Road House Blues), rich raisin (Honk If You Love OPI), chic olive (Uh-oh Roll Down the Window), and coffee brown (I Brake for Manicures) merge with iconic red (Color to Diner For), vivid rose (My Address is “Hollywood”), and luminous coral and orange (I Eat Mainely Lobster, Are We There Yet?) for an expansive color landscape.

“This collection will take women around the world on the ultimate tour across the USA, with stops in Baltimore, Clarksdale, Hollywood, Jackson Hole, Memphis, Milwaukee, New Orleans, New York City, Philadelphia, Seattle, St. Louis, and Tucson,” explains Suzi. “Together, the locales that inspired Touring America make up a rich palette of color complementing trends from the runway, where we saw a mix of feminine details and dramatic menswear touches.”

Touring America includes the following shades:

Are We There Yet?
Don’t make me reach back there and take that perfect melon shade!

I Eat Mainely Lobster

Honk if You Love OPI
Don’t let this gorgeous dark grape pass you by.

In this case…R&B stands for “Really Blue.”

Suzi Takes the Wheel
Buckle up—she’s not stopping until she gets to gray!

French Quarter for Your Thoughts
Want beads? Then show us your sexy gray nails!

Uh-oh Roll Down the Window
You’re gonna wanna pull over for this “unexpected” olive green.

OK, yes more Zoya.

Yes, I know. Third post today. I'm just excited. I got my Zoya BOGO polishes today :) I have been stalking the FedEx website, and I caught when the polishes were delivered to the post office. Rather than wait until the carrier to stop by tomorrow and put a little peach slip in my mailbox saying I had something to pick up, I called to make sure they were indeed there, and I went to the post office right then to pick the pretties up.

from left are Breezi, Tamsen, Mira and Sooki

Aren't they pretty? Lucas decided I am to use Breezi first, so I will be polishing with that one tonight :)

The one with Zoya Lana

I'm feeling motivated. I'm finally getting around to all the posts I have stored up. I really want to get back into posting polish stuff 'cause it's my hobby ... and I like it ... and some of you are following me because of polish :)

Anyway, this color, Lana, from Zoya is a MUST HAVE for me. It's pretty. It's shimmery. It's just great.

Zoya's website describes Lana like this: "A very different rich red metallic duochrome. A frosty hint of orange creates a unique "oil-slick" look."

I describe Lana like this: A really odd blend of red, orange and pink with gold shimmer that totally works. See for yourself:
Application is a dream. I rarely have problems with Zoya polish. Base was China Glaze Strong Adhesion, then two coats of Lana, then a top of ORLY Sec'nDry. She stayed chip and wear free for two days. I'm sure she would have stayed on my nails longer, but I wanted to try other polish :)

If you like orangey reds or shimmery polish, this color should be part of your collection.

The one with the discontinued polish

So I have this thing now. Zoya names their polishes after women. I, of course, now want all the polishes with the same names as my favorite TV characters. But as I was searching for my Smallville ladies, I noticed Chloe came up missing. WHAT? No Chloe?

Chloe is a sad panda.

BUT GUESS WHAT I FOUND OUT?
Chloe was just discontinued. I found her on eBay. And it's nothing like what I expected.

As you may know, I'm not a pink polish person. I own three pinkish polishes, and ONLY because of their names. But here's Chloe:

She's extremely sheer. It took four very thick coats to get this look. And it had rampant VNL. The photo didn't quite capture the blue shimmer running through it, tho. It was really pretty under the light. Just not my color. Application was great if you don't count how many coats it took lol She'd be great layered over another polish.

The one with more polish? This time it's sparkly!

Where have I been? Where have I been? I have absolutely no idea. I got lost in working and, well, nothing else I guess. Anyway, I have some sparkly polishes swatched to show :) All three of these beauties are in natural light out in my front yard.

First up is the lovely Julieanne from Zoya - a deep violet purple, leaning ever so slightly toward blue-ish. She went on so smoothly! And the sparkles - oh the sparkles! Base was China Glaze Strong Adhesion, two coats of Julieanne and a top coat of ORLY Sec'n Dry. The application on most Zoya polishes is flawless for me ... as long as I don't use the color lock system.

Next is Charla -the most mermaid-esque shade of blue-green. The turquoise-like base would be beautiful on its own, but it's cut with gorgeous flecks of shimmer. Base was China Glaze Strong Adhesion, two coats of Charla and a top coat of ORLY Sec'n Dry. As you can see, out in the sun, you can see the slightest hint of VNL. For all those who like a smooth polish - no worries on these glittery ladies. The finish is smooth.

Last, but certainly not least, is the bright Ivanka, a tropical green packed with sparkly goodness. While driving with this polish on (and Charla, too, actually), I had to fight to pay attention to the road because I kept wanting to stare at my fingernails! Base was China Glaze Strong Adhesion, two coats of  Ivanka and a top coat of ORLY Sec'n Dry.
