The one with a Superman skittle - and Clark!

Today is a fun post! For Halloween, my puppy is going to be Superman! Big shock, right? I mean, his name is Clark Kent after all! He doesn't really mind the costume, either. Putting it on him is never a problem :)
Isn't he super cute!!?? I don't think we could have picked out a better puppy. He's so smart. He picks up on things extremely easy, and for the most part is very calm, gentle and loving. The day we went to get him, I knew we were getting Clark Kent. (I mean, I didn't know it would be THIS puppy, but I knew whichever puppy we got would be named Clark Kent)...so I did my nails accordingly!
This yellow is Cult Nails Feel Me Up, the red is Julep Salma and the blue is Funky Fingers 220 Volts. Perfect Superman colors huh? I wish I was more gifted with nail art. My only attempt at putting the Superman symbol on my nails was a HUGE fail. I would LOVE a stamp of the symbol, but it's on a plate with a bunch of stamps I don't want. I don't want to spend that kind of money on one image haha

**DISCLAIMER** I was not paid for this review by anyone. I either purchased these polishes myself or were given gifts as friends because I could not find the particular shade I wanted myself. I am not a professional nail tech, nor do I want to be. I'm just someone who enjoys polishing my own nails :)

The one with Pure Ice Halloween crackles!

Happy Tuesday! It's almost Halloween! For today, I've got some crackle polishes from Pure Ice. I'm not much for crackle, but occassionally I think it can spice up a manicure...especially if it's orange crackle!

Up first is Crushed, a shimmery orange crackle. I decided to really have a contrast here and put it over Layla Aqua Zen. This combo is actually awesome - and super eye-catching! I got a lot of compliments on this combo, and I believe I might have to wear it again! Any Miami Dolphin fans out there? You'll need these polishes! My only issue is that the crackle was a bit chunky. I mean, like, on the brush. It felt like it had some sizeable sand-grainy-type bits in it. Is this normal for crackle? As you can see, it didn't effect the performance...but I'm wondering if it might in the long run?

Next up is a black crackle called Strobe Light. I tossed it over Zoya Natalie...and wow, I'm amazed at how well it crackled! While the Crushed pictured above had wide, deep cracks, the black one here has small, fine cracks. How cool is it that they turned out so differently? This bottle wasn't gritty like the orange - so I'm wondering if it's a bottle-by-bottle thing? Maybe depending on age?

The final crackle I have to show you is a yellow shimmer called Catwalk - and I don't like it at all hahah Maybe it's the combination I used? I put it over a darker greyish/black, Essence Hunt Me If You Can. Maybe it would be better over another color? *shrug* At any rate, I just don't think the color is good...and comparing it's "cracking ability" to the other two, it doesn't look like it cracks as well.

What do you think? Is the crackle phase over? I know a lot of people think so - but are there people out there who still enjoy wearing crackle? If so, what brand? What color?

Pure Ice polishes can be purchased at WalMart, and some Walgreens stores.

The one with Clark's first Bark Box!

Having a new puppy has just been so fun! At left is my Clark Kent, a Cairn Terrier (like Toto from Wizard of Oz). He's loving, playful and very energetic! He loves leaves and playing in the backyard (even when the leaves are gone). He is 3 month and 19 days old right now, and is getting close to 6 1/2 lbs. He's really into squeaky toys, particularly a carrot and a hedgehog. He can sit on command (well, about 80% of the time!). He loves treats that are peanut butter-flavored, and pretty much turns his nose up at all the others!

When I first got Clark, I knew I wanted to get him a BarkBox, a monthly subscription program that features items for your best friend! This is the first box Clark has received, and it has some wonderful stuff in it! I have to say this: the links provided in this post are affiliate links. For every person I refer, Clark will get a free month, and the person who signs up will get $5 off their first box. This program came highly recommended by my friend Jen, over at The Polishaholic. She gets one every month for her puppy Degen! Clark is, of course, signed up for the box for smaller dogs, but there are boxes for medium and large dogs!

So what's in the box?

1. Trail Blazin' Bitz from Feelgood Treat Company. They are wheat, gluten and preservative-free and made from all natural and organic ingredients. Clark has yet to try these because he is pretty stuck on his peanut butter flavored ones.
2. Tropiclean clean teeth gel. We have yet to use it on Clark, but he is, of course, going to be subjected to it! haha
3. Metro Paws Poopy Packs. Why of course we need these. Always.

Also in this box is a Moody Pet Humunga Stache toy. It's like a ball with a mustache attached...so that when the dog puts the ball in their mouth, it looks like they have a 'stache! ...well not Clark so much.

And last but not least, a wool snake from Lollycadoodle. The paper says it was made by trained artisans in Nepal! wowwee! Clark loved it but we had to end up taking it away from him...
He nommed it so much he started having teal poop! ahaha Pieces of the fabric were coming off, and my little guy was eating them! haha But it was fun while it lasted :)

The one with Enchanted Polish Igor!

My sweet friend Jodi over at Captivating Claws got me the neatest gift! She bought me Enchanted Polish Igor! Igor is purple, black, red, green and white glitter in a clear base. The glitters are all wild! haha I wanted to put this over a color that helped the glitter stand out, so I chose ORLY Decades of Dysfunction, a pinkish white. Or well, I see pink in it! haha I love the way this looks!

I had no issues with application with this glitter. I'm finding more and more that chunky, packed glitters aren't synonymous with thick, goopy messes - which is so refreshing! I used two coats of Igor over the ORLY polish.
You like? I do!! It looks like confetti being thrown at a party, doesn't it? :)

The one with Enchanted Polish Mean Mr. Mustard and Ola Rio!

Good morning! I've got two more Enchanted Polishes for you today! I am really loving the formula on these polishes. I've mentioned many times that I am not much into indie polishes. I have tried or viewed several, and they just didn't tickle my fancy. Enchanted Polish is different. So far, every one I've tried has been A-ok! :)

First up is Mean Mr. Mustard, a flashy duochrome that changes green, gold and yellow. There's also holographic glitter in there! It's super microfine, which is so cool! The really great thing about this polish is that it was a one-coater for me! You all know how much I love polishes that are good in one coat :) It has a very metallic look to it when it's dry - it's actually kind of neat, tho, because of the color shift.

Next is Ola Rio! This is another glitter; it sparkled with pink, copper and purple flashes. The colors together tend to make browns and oranges and red on the nail, and it looks so perfect for fall! I'm entirely certain that this was the color of my backyard when the leaves were down! It is simply stunning!

I will be trying the Enchanted glitters I have over bases soon. Be on the lookout for another post :) Enchanted Polish is sold in several places, including llarowe, Harlow & Co and Mei Mei's Signatures.

The one with Enchanted Polish Hello New York and Ciao Milano!

Happy Saturday! I have two polishes from an AMAZING indie brand for you today! I don't do indies a lot, only ones that really intrigue me, and Enchanted Polish has done just that! Two of the polishes I will show you today are both color shifting! Now, other than glow in the dark, I am the most taken in by color shifting pigments. You know why? Because people notice them! When I wore these Enchanted Polishes out in public, I got so many compliments! People loved them :) The photos here in this post are sometimes a little blurry. I did them that way on purpose so the color shift was more evident. Trust me, the effect is awesome! So without further ado...

Let's start with Hello New York! Is a pretty thick glitter that flashes green to gold to yellow. I really tried taking a lot of these pictures in the sun, but they are completely best inside with natural light. The flashes happen so much more amazingly when there isn't direct sunlight. I used two coats of polish alone (no colored base) for these photos. I'll be trying these over bases soon, so look for another Enchanted Polish post!
As you can see it's a really pretty glitter even without the shifting flashes!
This one is inside with a direct flash pointed right at the nail.
Natural light, no flash. You can see the different colors on each nail, as they all shift in the natural light!
And now...on to Ciao Milano! Holy Smokes this polish is the gorgeous-est of the gorgeous. It shifts blue, pink, green, purple...did I miss any? Everyone I ran into while I was wearing this polish grabbed my nails and moved them around to see the beautiful colors. It's truly a one-of-a-kind in my collection! Actually, all these Enchanted Polishes are. I don't own a lot like these, which is awesome! Anyway, I used two coats for the photos, no colored base. Words are failing me here to describe this amazing color. Everyone needs it!
O.O Amazing right? The color shift is just so phenomenal in this polish! I will definitely be trying this one over some bases - I'm thinking this over a dark base would just be too ... yeah, words have failed me again hahah

Enchanted Polish is sold in several places, including llarowe, Harlow & Co and Mei Mei's Signatures.

The one with Ninja Polish Bling! collection!

Oh my goodness, oh my goodness! I have some serious awesomeness for you today - Blingy awesomeness! I'm talking about the Ninja Polish Bling! collection, currently available on the site! They are super sparkly and packed full of glittery goodness! I generally lean toward creme polishes when given the chance. Unless, that is, I find a glitter than is so amazing I can't help but love it :)

First up is my favorite of the trio, Caribbean Reef. HOLY SMOKES. This is gorgeous! This is a chocked-full-of-glitter aqua bomb. Seriously. So much glitter! Did I mentioned the aqua glitter is also holographic? I just kept staring at my nails in the sun! Two coats get almost full coverage. I did have a few patches that were thin after two coats, but for the most part, smooth sailing! Not clumpy or gooey. Perfect formula! Get yours here!

Also in this great collection is Sexy & I Know It, a mix of blue and pink holographic glitters. It reminds me of a carnival! hahah I don't know why haha Maybe it's that pink and blue together remind me of cotton candy. At any rate, this polish is a hidden gem! Wearing it in regular light is beautiful, but when you get it out in the sun...man! It looks about a billion different color when the sunlight dances over your nails. Pictured is two non-thick, non-goopy coats. Get yours here!

And last, but certainly not least is Eye Candy! This polish is so hard to describe! Lots of sparkle, lots of  holo! It is just gorgeous in the sun, and like the other two in this collection, it's packed so full that two coats are really great coverage! I'll let the pics do the talking on this one. Get yours here!

You can GO HERE to ogle this collection! Retail is $9 a bottle, and it's worth every freakin' penny! Ninja Polish is one of the best resources for polish! Not only do they have their own line of lacquers, but they are an etailer for brands like Layla, Barry M, a-England, Jade and many more!

The one with Sation Twinkle Twinkle Big Star and The One and Phony!

To wrap up my focus on the new glitters from Sation, I've got a gorgeous one...and a not so gorgeous one. Well, I'm sure it's absolutely fabulous to someone else, but to me, it just wasn't my cup of tea!

First up is the lovely Twinkle Twinkle Big Star! It's a mix of gold glitter hex glitter, blue hex glitter and small red round glitter. The colors go so well in the bottle together, and it looks so inviting! It's definitely a topper. I don't think this could be worn alone. I swatched it over over Zoya Ziv.

And lastly, I've got The One & Phony...the sheerest pink ever. I'm not a pink fan, but I can appreciate it. This polish would have been better, for me, if the base was more tinted. There are clear (well, what looks like clear) and black round glitter in the polish, giving it a polka dotted look - that part I like! I tried using it once alone, but I quickly realized that it would take 4-5 coats to even get enough glitter to not make it look weird! haha So I tried a base of Salon Perfect Bubblegum...I topped it with two coats of The One & Phony.

The dots really make it! Too bad the pink is far too sheer :/ It would be awesome to layer over other colors, tho...just to see how it changes it. That might be an experiment for a later time...

These glitters are available on the website, and the price is $7. You can also check out all the other awesome glitter bombs in this collection, as well as the other great polishes Sation has to offer! All Miss products are made in the USA and are free of DBP, toluene and formaldehyde.
