The one with Nubar and Duality at Cosmoprof! (pic heavy)

I'm back! haha Did you miss me? (cause I just posted a few hours ago!) I have so much fun stuff to share from Cosmoprof, that I'm overloaded with excellent material! This afternoon's post featured two companies I had the pleasure of seeing during Cosmoprof last week!

Nubar, for starters, is a new-to-me brand! I had never actually found bottles of Nubar, nor had my eyes been graced by their physical presence (wow, did I just talk like that?) Anyway, I was super excited to see them at Cosmoprof! The lovely Lona showed me and some other bloggers around the booth, giving us the highlights! I was super excited about the glitter polishes, which are super packed with glitter! I love the packaging, too! The little carrying cases of nail polish are cute!

I was able to meet a very special person while at Cosmoprof. Her name is Barbara Lampugnale, and she is the driving force behind Duality Cosmetics. She is "a hard-working and determined mother of six girls, always had visions of creating innovative, fashionable and practical items for women with active lives." (credit for quote: DualityCosmetics.com) She appeared on Shark Tank, an ABC television show which allows people to  appear, pitch their product to the business "sharks" and see if their idea has merit. And her idea DOES have merit!!

The idea is polish, file and remover pads all in one - and it's awesome! They come together in one package.
What the bottle looks like put together...
The bottle detaches from the base to give access to the round, easy-to-use file...
And the file pops out of the base to reveal the conditioning remover pads!
How amazing is this combo? Traveling with this system would be the best thing ever! You wouldn't have to lug around huge bottles of remover, or be caught without a file if you're flying. I think this system is truly original. And I can tell you that Barbara is one of the most sweet, nice and humble people I've ever met. She was genuinely touched that Lindsey, a blogger who was with me when we met her, wanted a photo taken with her!

So that's my booth post for today! I have more, so keep coming back to see what other awesome things I found at Cosmoprof!

The one with Layla polishes - and their Cosmoprof booth! (pic heavy)

It's no secret that I'm not really a holo person. I like the occasional holo polish, don't get me wrong, but overall, they just aren't me. However, I have found a holo that I absolutely love. I can't put it into words haha (Laurie, are you reading this?) It's a Layla Hologram Effect polish, and it's an icy blue called Mermaid Spell.
See what I mean!? O.O Amazing. It just...I can't quit staring at it. Maybe I've had it in for holos all this time because I got a bad one or something? But this is just simply stunning! So I must take back any bad things I said about holos. I will wear this one again. I also have another Layla holo to show you guys, but that will be in a later post.

I do have two other Layla polishes to show you! The first is a magnetic polish called Turquiose Wave. I had never tried magnetics before, and these were super easy to use. The magnet is in the lid of the polish.

Now on to Layla Softouch Effects! The one I have here is a dusty light purple, I believe called, Stone. These aren't matte polishes. They just aren't shiny. The difference is an ingredient in these polishes. For mattes, there's an ingredient that makes the polish chalky...that ingredient is not in the Softouch Effects :)

Amazing huh? I do have more Layla polishes to show you later :) I was lucky at Cosmoprof and met the Layla ladies, and I also attended a cocktail party with the ladies. Here are some of the awesome nail wheels they had set up at their Cosmoprof booth!

I will bring you more Laylas in a later post!

piCture pOlish Blog Fest 2012

Welcome to piCture pOlish Blog Fest 2012! Lots of bloggers all over the world are participating in this wonderful day, so you should be seeing some great swatches of some great polish! I am honored that I was chosen to showcase Tease and Warning for this event!
  • Tease is a new 'Mesh' shade and will be available from piCture pOlish on-line and from all Network members!

  • Warning is also new and will be available from piCture pOlish on-line and from all Network members!
I knew Warning would be a nice shade, as I love purples. Sometimes it's hard to photograph purples, but this one turned out a-OK! Maybe it's the nice shimmer, maybe it's the glitter...I had to use three coats to be opaque, but it's worth it :)
See the flashes of blue? It's just a gorgeous effect when you move your hands under light. It's like the polish changes colors right before your eyes! I decided to add some Tease accents to this manicure with a dotting tool...
These colors compliment each other so well! The shimmers mesh with one another, so they are great in nail art together :)

So when I went to put on Tease, I was simply amazed at the glitteriness. It sparkles like a maniac! It's like a pinkish reddish glitter bomb that doesn't feel gritty much, even without top coat. Pictured here is two coats, only for good measure, because this baby could have been golden in one coat!
See the bold glitter? It just just beautiful! I could definitely see myself wearing this polish again. So of course I had to attempt some nail art. This was sort of inspired by Tetris blocks...
I liked it...but I didn't think it looked "square" enough.
A couple swipes of black striped polish later, and it sort of looks like patchwork! I shall work on that nail art another day! :)

Be sure to visit piCture pOlish on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and their website. There you can get updates of the new collections and other news!

The one with everything else from China Glaze that I saw at Cosmoprof!

Everyone is buzz-buzz-buzzing about the upcoming China Glaze holo collection, but I saw a few other collections that I am looking forward to! It's no secret that China Glaze is one of my favorite polish brands - they've had some really really nice collections coming out lately.

I've always liked creme polishes more, so I'm loving the Avante Garden collection! This collection will hit stores for Spring 2013.
See the nice, creamy goodness of this collection? I'm loving it! I can imagine slapping some glitter on top of these colors and calling it a day :)

Next we have the Bohemian luster chrome collection, which is currently out now.

I'm really looking to the Halloween collection, Wicked. Look at that glitter! It's called Glitter Goblin...and I must have it :)

Something really new from China Glaze are nail appliques! I am really looking forward to trying these!! You guys will be the first to see when I do! :)

So that's the China Glaze side of the AII booth at Cosmoprof. I do have some other brands to share with you from that company, so keep your eyes out! :)

The one with ORLY's Cosmoprof booth!

I was extremely lucky to talk to the communications manager from ORLY and SpaRitual, John Galea, and he was super helpful! He showed us the upcoming collections from the companies, and I have just a few to show you here!

My favorite - and the ones I'm anticipating the most is the Spellbound collection for Halloween! The black polish is an ORLY standard, Liquid Vinyl. Three new glitters are part of this collection. The green is Monster Mash; the orange is called Right Amount of Evil; and the reddish, brownish one is R.I.P. I can't wait for this one!

The Electronica collection is ORLY's 2012 back-to-school collection! "Inspired by the unique blend of nature and the machine, the result is high tech style though a precisely calculated live stream of techno color to fingertips at full volume," according to an ORLY press release, this collection features four polishes: Preamp, a light purple shimmer; Shockwave, a royal blue creme; Decoded, a grey creme; and Synchro, a duochrome pink. They are currently on sale right now!

And for another collection I'm looking forward to...the Fired Up collection! Featuring six shades, this collection was "created to showcase inner power." Colors in this collection include Glow, a taupe creme; Flare, a pale golden shimmer; Flicker, a rust-colored duochrome shimmer; Ignite, a red creme; Smolder, a deep wine-colored shimmer; and Rapture, a chocolate brown shimmer. The target release date for this collection is September.

Ooooh magnetics! Who doesn't love playing with magentic polishes? I found out recently that I do! haha These three magentic polishes all have shimmer. They were released in June, with a $15 price tag. Force Field is the plum color; Paint on Electron is a gunmetal grey; and Opposites Attract is a blue-violet color.

But what about the holidays? The December ones to be exact...Naughty or Nice is the ORLY 2012 holiday collection - which "encourages women to embrace both the inner angel and the devil inside." Six polishes will be in this collection, which is due to hit shelves later this year. Polishes include a hot red glitter called Devil May Care; a pale gold glitter called Halo; a fuchsia shimmer called Miss Conduct; a violet red creme named Unlawful; Angel eyes, a blue glitter; and a deep red shimmer called Torrid.

See anything you like? I am loving these color combos, myself.

ORLY Flash Glam!

When I was at Cosmoprof, I had the pleasure of visiting the ORLY booth and speaking with John, the communications manager. He showed me a lot of the upcoming collections. He was super nice :) I've got a press release for you below detailing the Flash Glam FX Collection...and look for my ORLY booth post upcoming! :)

Add multi-dimensional shimmer with ORLY’s Flash Glam FX Collection - 22 new prismatic lacquers combine chunky glitter shapes for unexpected texture and spectacular shine. Wear alone or create a signature style by layering over favorite ORLY shades. Try glitters over black crème Liquid Vinyl for maximum contrast and head-turning flash.

Pro Tip: Flash Glam FX is intended to be used as a layering lacquer. Opt to wear the formula alone using 3-4 coats for full glitter coverage or layer glitters over a favorite ORLY shade. For a smoother finish, seal manicure with a topcoat.

The 22 lacquers in the Flash Glam FX Collection include:

(It’s Electric, Can’t Be Tamed, Go Deeper, Sashay My Way and Be Brave are featured above)

Atomic Splash: Gunmetal Glitter
Be Brave: Purple Holographic Bar Glitter
Cant Be Tamed: Purple w/Gunmetal Glitter
Cupcakes and Unicorns: Pink Shimmer w/Red Bar Glitter
Embrace: Pink Holo Glitter
Go Deeper: Ocean Blue Holographic Glitter
Holy Holo!: Silver Holographic Glitter
It’s A Meteor: Clear Base w/Gold, Silver and Red Glitter
Spazmatic: Electric Blue Glitter
Mermaid Tale: In-House Green Holographic Glitter
Monster Mash: Lime Green Holographic Glitter
Ridiculously Regal: Garnet Glitter
Right Amount of Evil: Orange Holographic Glitter
R.I.P.: Black Jelly Base w/Orange Glitter
Rockets Red Glare: Red Glitter
Sashay my Way: Gold Holographic Glitter
So Go-Diva: Chocolate Brown Glitter
It's Electric: Blue Bar Holographic Glitter
Sunglasses at Night: Black Holographic Bar Glitter
Too Fab: Gold Glitter
Ultraviolet: Fuchsia Glitter
Watch It Glitter: Bronze Glitter

Removal Tip:
Since the glitters are impervious to acetone, they may be difficult to remove. ORLY recommends using pure acetone and ORLY’s Pocket Removers to remove the lacquer from the nail. Simply pour acetone into the pocket remover and soak nails for 5-10 minutes. Press the sponge in the Pocket Remover to the nail and then pull the pocket off of your finger. By applying the pressure to the nail this should help to remove any stubborn glitter particles that are left behind.

All ORLY Nail Lacquers including the Flash Glam FX Collection are free of DBP, Toluene and all traces of Formaldehyde and Formaldehyde Resin.

The Flash Glam FX Collection will be available starting June 2012 for $10 each. ORLY Nail Lacquers and Treatment products are available at orlybeauty.com, Sally Beauty, Ulta and other purveyors of beauty throughout the U.S. and in over 100 countries worldwide.

The one with Nicka K's Cosmoprof Booth!

Hello out there! I'm back from Vegas, halfway refreshed and not even remotely back to normal! But that's not stopping me from continuing my coverage of what I saw and who I met at Cosmoprof 2012! Let's continue today with a new-to-me brand, Nicka K!

Founded in 1995 in New York, has a reputation of offering quality make-up at affordable prices. Several brands fall under Nicka K, including NK, Tyche, Pincatt, and others. What did I see at their Cosmoprof booth?

Nail polish of course!! Nicka K offers a wide range of colors in their regular line of nail polish...plus they are coming out with a new line of magnetics!

Polish remover pads are where it's at! I love polish remover pads! I wish all polish could be remover with a simple swipe...and these remover pads are one step closer to that :)

And ooh, perfume sticks! Lovely fresh scents in an easy to apply balm-y stick.

And also, eyeliner pens! These are Nicka K's one art liner pens.

This scented sparkle spray is awesome! It really gives your skin (and hair if you want!) a hint of sparkle to get you through the day ;)

My favorite part of the Nicka K booth was the skin items - masks, eye pads...all soothing and cooling! The eye pads did wonders for my sore, puffy eyes after Cosmoprof!

James, one of the associates at the Nicka K booth demonstrated the mask for us...
Definitel keep an eye out for my review of Nicka K products! I'm really excited about them! Nicka K can be found on the web.
