I have some smooth as silk eyeliners from NYC to show you this afternoon! These are three of the Show Time Velvet Eyeliners, Black Velvet, Black Wine and Black Brown.
Intensely dark, highly-pigmented pencil eyeliners. NYC New York Color is redefining black with the new Show Time Velvet Eyeliner Pencils that give you pure black color with a velvety finish. Get the full dramatic impact of shining black color, for look-at-me eyes that last all day. These super soft pencils glide on incredibly smoothly for flawless application. Easy to blend and versatile, the eyeliner is long-lasting and in pencil form for ultimate control. Draw a thin line along the upper lash line and smooth out for a natural, eye accenting look, or accentuate the bottom lash line for a smoldering look.
These are super smooth! I experienced no dragging or pulling when I used them, and as you can see below, I had no issues drawing little doodle with them! I think Black Wine is my favorite of this trio.
Do you guys have any NYC eyeliners? These retail for $1.99! You can get them wherever NYC cosmetics are sold. To find a retailer near you, please visit the website.

Remember the last time I blogged about Teadora? I said I was in love with the product, but not excited about the scent - and I sort of, maybe, said that it smell like dirt? That scent was Rainforest at Dawn. And while I stand by my assessment that it smelled super earthy, I can tell you that I am madly in love with its counterpart, Rainforest at Dusk.
I was given the opportunity to try the Nourishing Body Polish and Bath & Body Oil in Rainforest at Dusk. I completely expected to be turned off by the scent, but I was completely blown away! It's citrus-y and light. It reminds me of lemon mint with hints of coconuts and flowers. Just fabulous. I've been using both the scrub and oil, and I can definitely tell a difference in my skin!
Above is the polish. So what in it? Antioxidant and vitamin-rich Buriti, Babassu, Brazil Nut, Rose Hip Seed, and Maracujá oils, plus potent exfoliants such as Açaà Seeds and Amazonian Clay our ultra-smooth Nourishing Body Polish removes dead skin while providing amazing hydration for brighter, healthier, smoother skin. That's from the website. And I believe it! My skin loves this stuff! I've grown accustomed to the non-abrasive nature, and even when I don't think it's working, I know it is.
After I use the polish, I follow up with the oil (pictured below). I have only been using this oil on my body, but there are other uses! You can put it in your hair or directly in a bath OR massage onto your scalp to reduce flakies - that's my next try. With the same ingredients as the scrub, this oil protects your skin against free radical damage, repairs elasticity and provides much needed hydration for younger-looking, healthier, smoother skin, according to the website.
Teadora
is 100% vegan, and free of parabens, synthetic fragrance, silicone,
gluten, phthalate, sulfates and other harsh chemicals. You can purchase both from Teadora's website. The polish is $34 for 6 ozs. and $10 for 1.5 ozs. Pricing for the oil is $58 for 8 ozs and $15 for 2 ozs. I can tell you the oil lasts for a loooooonng time. I mean, I've been using mine for weeks, and I've barely made a dent in my bottle. I think it's definitely worth it, and will probably purchase another smaller size when I run out.

When I first envisioned this nail art, My colors matched a little better. But still. I'm quite proud of this, as it still came out exactly like I was thinking about it in my head. Can you tell what it is? Yeah, it's supposed to be wine pouring out of the bottle, down my nails and dripping into the glass. Some people thought the bottle was a knife and the wine was blood...
The decals are all VyNails by Royal Lacquer. The wine bottle and glass are the actual decals I just stuck on my nails. I also used the drip decals (reviewed here and used here) for my middle two fingers, then I used a dotting tool to add some more drips. The polishes I used were Milani Lady-Like Sheer, which I received for review, for the base, and Milani Sangria Rush, which I purchased with my own money.
I am really proud of this :) It's not perfect, but my nail art rarely is. I love using VyNails, and I'm often just dreaming of ways I can incorporate them into nail art. They are SO easy to use. Do you have any VyNails? Or any vinyl decals? I know there are a LOT of them out there now! Find Vynails and Royal Lacquer: Etsy | Facebook | Twitter | Instagram

We've come to the end of NYC lippies week, so I figured I'd end it with a bang! Or well, a giveaway at any rate :) I have one of these lippies to give away to one of you lucky readers! But first, some deets on these amazing lipsticks? I've mentioned many times before about my love for matte finish lipsticks, and NYX is the one who kickstarted my love for matte lips with Bloody Mary. I knew, once I fell in love with that lipstick, i would be back for more.... and I've got two to show you today!
It's no secret that I love the Absolute Makeup Cleansing Tissues. I've posted many times across all my social media accounts of them, so it should be no surprise that I stock up on them. But that's not all I have in my beauty arsenal in duplicate. I also stock up on NYC Grand Central Station. I use it as a top coat, but it's not listed as a top coat. It's just a quick dry polish. However, it's one of the best top coats I use.
Yup. Pictured above is my backlog of these two products. I only have two of the makeup wipes in reserve, but I'm currently using one of them, so technically, I've got 3. I get mine at TJMaxx now. But if that store ever stopped carrying them, I can always order them online! I use them every day, and take them with me on trips. There are several different scents, but I've bonded with cucumber.
This polish is the best quick dry top coat! I pretty much use it for every mani. I pretty much have a bottle everywhere. One in my purse, one on my mani table, one on the table next to my side of the couch, one next to my computer....
Do you have either of these items? Do you have some "stock up" items of your own? I'd love to know what you guys can't live without :)
We've established before that I'm a huge fan of matte lips, but sometimes a girl needs a little gloss. Right? That's where the NYX Butter Glosses come in. I've got four to show you today! All four have about the same consistency and application. They are smooth and silky with just the slightest hint of tacky to make them stick. I generally get slim to none on lip gloss wear, but with these I can get a few hours (if I'm not eating or drinking much). But I lick my lips a whole heck of a lot, and that contributes to wear.
Every week I will bring you nail art! Thursdays used to be Fail Art Thursday,
but hopefully I'll have less "fail" here! I'm going to do this series
(for as long as I can), with nail art inspired by books! The covers of
books specifically. I hope to be able to do this EVERY week - and I'm
going to try my hardest to make this a weekly feature - there are SO
many books I can utilize :)
So I finally talked my husband isn't watching Twin Peaks. I'd watched the entire series when it was originally on TV back in the 90s, but he never had. All my sideways references just went over his head for the most part. Today's mani is inspired by The Secret Diary of Laura Palmer, the tawdry, unsavory companion to the series. Unfortunately, there's not much TO this mani hahaha :)
I only used two polishes and a small piece of plastic wrap. The reddish orange I used for the base is OPI Tasmanian Devil Made Me Do It, and the brown is OPI Suzi Says Da! Both of these polishes were purchased with my own money years ago.
First I started with Tasmanian Devil Made Me Do It as the base, and once it was dry, I painted a coat of Suzi Says Da over that. Immediately I started dabbing my nails with the plastic wrap all crinkled up into a ball.
And voila! It's almost too simple, and I kinda feel bad for making it my Inspired by a Book mani this week! I have a whole stack of books I could've used, but this one was so, well, it's almost elegant looking. Kind of like a very high class marble floor?
So what do you guys think? I am really looking
forward to what I can accomplish by continuing this feature! Is there a book
you'd like to see me attempt nail art inspired by? I'll gladly take
suggestions! I can even get the book checked out from the library if
need be ;)

I'm a huge fan of lip pencils (and eye pencils). So easy for travel or on-the-go - and these NYX Jumbo Lip Pencils are no exception. Even if they aren't exactly my color. I snagged four of them on sale at Goody's a while back. While I think only one of these really suits me, the application for all four was a dream. They glide on smooth and stay put. I'm showcasing Hot Red, Irish Coffee, Pecan and Almond.
I have some amazing polishes to show you today - and I have a GREAT deal to tell you about on Gloss48! Cupcake Polish is launching on Gloss48 in just a few hours. And a special pricing is in place for one week! I have four Cupcake Polishes for you today, including the Gloss48 exclusive, Glossy Girls! This post is very picture heavy, so check out all the goodness behind the cut!
I am loving these NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams! I have two to show you today - two that I wear often! I'm a huge fan of matte lip products, so I should've known how much I would like these. The wear is great, and there's no weird taste to them like some lip products I've had.
Have you guys had a chance to check out the Zoya Ultra PixieDusts? They are a trio of textured polished with chunky glitter - and they are supposed to dry matte, but I never could get two of them to look supremely matte. Check em out after the cut!
I suppose there's a dupe out there for Salon Perfect Cosmic Dust. I think it's a little known polish from China Glaze called Fairy Dust. I wouldn't know, tho, as I don't own Fairy Dust. Maybe it's the principle of it now, but I prefer Cosmic Dust for the simple fact that I own it. I don't think I need them both! This scattered holo is definitely a topper and not worn on it's own. I wore it over China Glaze Well Trained. Pictured is one coat of Cosmic Dust over Well Trained - see how well to covers? The sparkle is super pretty in the sunlight, as well, but it REALLY adds depth when in indirect light.

It just looks.... amazing, doesn't it? Especially over this deep color. I'm not sure how I'd feel about this topper over lighter colors, but who knows. It could be amazing :) Do you have this polish? What are your
thoughts on Salon Perfect polishes? You can get Salon Perfect polishes
at WalMart for less than $4 per bottle.

I didn't really think much of the China Glaze All Aboard collection at first glance, but when I saw Well Trained one day in Sally's. Holy Moses, what a gorgeous deep teal. The formula is really good, and I had no issues with two coats. This polish did stain my nails and surrounding skin a bit, and I did have on two coats of base - so beware!

What do you think? A must-have? I have snagged another blue from this collection, and I'll try to get it posted soon - but I do have a LOT of stuff to show you guys! Do you have
this polish.... or any from this collection?

Complete honesty? I bought this polish for the name. It was a complete throwback for me to LOST, the show you either love or hate. I, myself, had no issues with LOST or with the way it ended. I also completely understood what happened. I won't get into it at all, but I do believe a lot of people hated it because they didn't understand the ending heh
ANYWAY. This polish, Salon Perfect Oceanic (not #815 btw), is a sparkly blue sea of shimmer. It dries somewhat to a matte finish. I think this polish would be perfect as an ocean... that's kinda it's name! Pictured is two coats - you can still see a wee bit of VNL, but it's not so obvious that it's all you see. A third coat may have helped with that, but it was one of those things you see after it's all said and done haha

Milani
has completely revamped their polish and eyeshadow lines - and I've had
the opportunity to test out the nail polish! There are so many of them
that I decided to break them up into trios and show off some nail art!
Today's trio .... well, I had some nail art woes with it hahaha The colors aren't traditionally colors that you would think to put together - but I was determined!
I tried a color block mani - and that was such a fail that I couldn't even bring myself to post the photos. It was THAT bad. So I settled on an accent nail with stamping. I used Enchanting for the majority of my nails, and my accent name is Doll Face. I stamped over Doll Face with Imperial Purple in a swirly design.... then added some stylish dots in Enchanting. The end result is kinda cool.
How are the colors on their own? Below is Enchanting on it's second day of wear! I adore this color, and couldn't bear to take it off. It's a very deep, rich crelly almost. The shine makes it seem like a crelly, but it's very opaque.
Doll Face is a cute bubblegum-esque pink. It's too pink for me, I believe, but the formula on this polish is so nice! Creamy and dreamy, perfect in two coats!
Imperial Purple is a sweet pop of purple. The formula is really good on this grape, color too. I'm going to test more of these polishes for stamping, but at least I know this one is good :)
Soooooooooooo, what do you think? These are part of the core
line of Milani makeup, so you can get them anytime (or from the website)
- but if you see some you like, maybe you should pick them up? :) I
have finally managed to see them in EVERY CVS store I've walked into....
so they should be near you now!
